Wiring has always been the most challenging job in any CCTV or security and surveillance system. Heavy gauge cable hookups and installation is the most time consuming, laborious, and expensive task in the system. Degradation of the video performance due to noise pick-up, ground loops, signal loss, high-frequency roll-off, reflections, group delay distortion, and other maladies has been an issue with long cables. Others have attempted to alleviate these problems by using very expensive cables costing several dollars /ft. or more. Still the noise, hum, and signal attenuation issues have not been fully addressed.
Pragmatic Communications Systems, Inc., proudly announces a new standard which overcomes the problems inherent with today's heavy gauge cables and traditional video distribution delivery systems. The CATS (tm) Video system is a very high performance system for the distribution of broadcast quality video signals on inexpensive category 3 or category 5 wires, based on PCSi's proprietary Bandwidth Domain Signal Processing [BDSP(tm)] technology. This proprietary BDSP(tm) technology enables transmission of the highest quality video signals up to 1000 ft. on a standard category 5 or un-shielded twisted pair wires without any loss in the performance, dynamic range, or quality.
The state-of-the-art BDSP(tm) technology completely eliminates any ground loops, noise pick-up, or hum at the end of the transmission distance. It also provides for superb video reproduction, and a very high resolution to fine details in the picture quality.
The CATS(tm) Video system is the ultimate in video signal distribution. Up to 16 receivers can be daisy-chained or tapped on to the category 5 wires. The CATS(tm) system transmitter accepts video signals from any high quality camera, and transmits it on the category 5 wires. The CATS(tm) system receiver recovers the signal from the category 5 wires and superbly reproduces the original video signal utilizing the BDSP(tm) technology.
There are numerous advantages of the CATS(tm) system. First, it allows the multi-point distribution and broadcasting of video signals to any location within 1000 ft. on a category 5 wire. Up to 16 receivers can be connected in parallel or daisy-chained together on a single wire within the coverage area to provide a complete omnipresent network. The range can be extended to many miles or many receivers beyond 16 units by configuring a simple repeater system.
The applications of CATS(tm) are endless. It can be used for Home Theater video distribution, broadcast TV video distribution, CCTV, perimeter monitoring, prison system, airport security, school campuses, hospitals, etc.
The CATS(tm) Video distribution system is designed to be a companion to our CATS(tm) Audio distribution system. Both systems can co-exist and share the same cable.
To complement the CATS(tm) wireline system, the TrueView(tm) high performance wireless video transmission system can also be used for remote extensions where installing category 5 wires is not an option.
