Overview
The DMS™ 2.1 delivers an elegant distributed music system with paging on cost-effective category-5 wire: unequaled sound quality on cable runs to 3000 feet, distributing audio to more than 32 listening areas on a single Cat5 - home-run into a patch bay or daisy-chained. In-wall volume-controlled amplifiers are locally powered (or centrally powered over 18/2 AWG run alongside the Cat5) and chain from one to the next, up to 32 per wire, with further expansion via a repeater.
The rack-mount transmitter includes a multi-channel audio switcher controlled by IR remote or RS-232/RS-485, feeding a TPA™ transmitter onto the Cat5. Each zone endpoint combines a TPA™ receiver, rotary volume control and the MBA™ 24-watt mono-block amplifier in a single junction box. Pragmatic's proprietary SuperTranz™ circuit eliminates ground loops, AC interference, noise pickup and hum - and the system runs on Cat5, Cat3 or even telephone-grade twisted pair, operating from -40 to 85 °C for harsh environments.
