Overview
The PADS-USB-HUB attaches to the USB port of any PC-based audio server and provides up to three channels of stereo audio plus a control communication channel, transported over Cat5 cable to PADS™ audio endpoints. Independently powered, it also feeds 12-15 VDC power to the endpoints.
The server sees the three channels as three native USB audio DACs - any audio application can open them and send music, with no special drivers. The control channel appears as a virtual COM port with a very simple API, carrying user commands, endpoint status and music-captioning information.
