Overview
The PH4 is the 4-port active hub at the heart of a compact PADS™ system. PADS™ is Pragmatic's proprietary technology for carrying stereo audio, power and control signals on a single Cat5 cable - up to 300 ft / 100 m over standard Cat5/Cat5e, Cat3/Cat6 and other UTP or shielded twisted-pair cables, with plug-and-play point-to-point, daisy-chain or star distribution.
Each RJ-45 port feeds a PADS™ audio endpoint - in-wall amplifiers, amplified speakers like the PTS-1, or volume controls - carrying clean stereo audio, DC power and control on one inexpensive cable. Systems expand easily to multi-source, multi-zone applications, with energy-efficient, very low power consumption.
